This makes Aim more valuable for Gunslingers. Also, a greater number of their abilities, and more of their important ones, are in the Ranged category. Gunslingers have true dual wield, which means their offhand blaster gives them a second attack on lots of abilities. All your attacks use the barrel from the main hand blaster, but only Ranged category attacks are affected by the min/max damage stats (because those don't affect Tech abilities). These are boosted by Cunning alone.Īlso, no matter what the cool little animation looks like in the game, it does not use the scattergun to calculate damage (any more than any other attack is affected by the stats on it). As Ranged, they are boosted by both Aim and Cunning.īackblast damage, like the rest of your abilities, is a Tech ability. The only abilities you have that are in the Ranged category are Flurry of Bolts, Quick Shot and Charged Burst. This has nothing to do with either the distance from the target or whether you use a gun in the animation, it's just a category of ability (the other two categories are Melee and Force, but these are only used by the force classes). Thus you have Tech or Ranged attacks (Tech does yellow damage, Ranged does white damage). Tech and Ranged are categories of ability. You don't use it? I prefer ranged attacks. Backblast is the bread and butter of the scoundrel.
